About Us:
Central States Health & Welfare and Pension Funds are two of the largest, multibillion dollar non-profit trust funds in the country. The Funds administer health and pension benefits to nearly one million Teamster members and participants with over 1,000 contributing employers to the Funds. Our building (constructed in 2019) is walking distance to the CTA Blue Line and close to O’Hare Airport.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will process incoming and outgoing correspondence to ensure smooth operation of the Mailroom Department.

  • Open, sort, and prep (for scanning, return to member/provider or as directed) incoming or returned outgoing correspondence per specific department directives.
  • Operate a scanning workstation to process incoming mail or other materials electronically as directed or necessary. Ensure correct scan job and settings are used depending on the nature of work. Gain a general understanding and ability to clean and troubleshoot minor errors with the scanning workstations.
  • Utilize a PC to process (print or electronically transfer) correspondence which originates electronically.
  • Accurately store and destroy scanned materials per the Funds’ retention period guidelines.
  • Have a basic knowledge and ability of computer use.
  • Assists colleagues and/or other areas of the Funds when backlog volumes warrant or as directed.
  • Attend departmental and group meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work well with others, meet deadlines and stay on task
  • Detail oriented
  • Basic computer literacy (use of company specific programs)
  • High School education
