Position Summary

The Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for the digital media experience of Central States Funds. They will have the ability to lead and engage audiences by presenting optimized content across all media channels for the organization, including MyTeamCare.org, MyCentralStatesPension.org, the Central Hub Intranet, digital signage, internal/external email, and social media pages.  This team member will have a deep understanding of the online space and will stay current with digital technology trends and tools.

 

This role reports directly to the Digital Communications Manager and will work closely with other department managers to ensure project requirements are met and high-quality standards are followed to present a truly innovative website and effective digital communications. Key to this role is the ability to have a strong end user understanding—coupled with demonstrated expertise in web content, digital communications, development, website design, quality assurance (QA) testing, and video production.

 

The success of this position will rely on being a problem solver who can build strong and enduring relationships with stakeholders, analyze web data (front and back end of CMS), research CSS issues, and offer solutions as needed.

 

Other qualifications include experience working with development teams, especially UX roles, strong writing and grammar skills, task management abilities, knowledge of accessibility guidelines, brand management, and fluency in data analytics. Experience with healthcare writing, MS Dynamics 365, Heap analytics, and Sitecore CMS is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert consultation on digital communication strategies, website design, development, testing, and delivery
  • Broad experience in web, email, social media, and mobile communications—their format, management, and creation/development
  • Assist with all phases of web development and lead site redesigns to support requirements
  • Edit and produce quality video campaigns for internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively bring ideas for content enhancements to drive member and employee engagement
  • Leverage measurement tools to apply insights and feedback from monthly progress reports with Heap Analytics to continually improve content and delivery methods
  • Maintain content infrastructures, including data, tools, and processes, to enable a positive experience for all CSF audiences
  • Work with content contributors to update websites with relevant, timely, and compelling content applicable to various audiences such as health and pension articles, TeamCare benefits, Central States Pension Fund benefits, member testimonials, and other branded content
  • Collaborate with the web development team on campaigns, such as enrolling in paperless benefit statements, increasing member web registrations, and improving demand through search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing (SEM)
  • Coordinate with marketing director on digital marketing efforts including print material, SMS, email, and social media campaigns
  • Create new site sections including multimedia components (videos, banners, interstitial pages)
  • Select photo images and graphics (light photo retouching and PDF deconstruction) to maintain digital media brand standards
  • Experience leveraging social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok
  • Maintain Digital Signage (Bright Sign) content calendar—create, track, and report progress
  • Work cooperatively with the CSF team members, health partners, and third-party consultants
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize content management software (Sitecore experience a plus)
  • Stay up to date with advancements in digital communication mediums and health literacy, and to keep learning U/X best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or similar experience) in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Technical Writing, or a related field
  • Two to five years in editorial content development, video production, and working on websites
  • Video production and video editing skills, experience with Premier Pro or Vyond
  • Strong writing, editing, organizational, and communication skills needed
  • Ability to troubleshoot digital issues and learn new concepts quickly
  • Adobe Creative Suite proficiency (especially Photoshop and Acrobat)
  • Health/medical writing experience preferred, knowledge of healthcare industry a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independent of supervision
  • Proficiency in HTML and content management systems (Sitecore a plus)
  • Experience with email programs and web design (MS Dynamics Marketing Module a plus)
  • Experience creating compelling visuals (charts, infographics, presentations)
  • Knowledge of Heap Analytics and/or data analysis
  • Knowledge of Digital Asset Management and Digital Signage (Bright Sign) systems a plus
  • Experience working closely with programmers/developers on projects

 

Annual Salary Range

$65,000-$70,000

The posted range of pay represents the anticipated pay scale for this position. Final pay will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including, but not limited to, skills, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and organizational needs.
